Rev. Ron H. Chen – Lead Pastor
Rev. Ron H. Chen is a native New Yorker. He lived in New York for 41 years before moving to the Bay Area. He was a rebellious teenager. He is a former gang member and High School drop out.
He accepted Jesus into his life when he was 21 years old. He has served in various roles in the last 22 years of full-time ministry. He has served as a Youth Pastor, English Pastor and Church Planter. He has also served as Adjunct Professor of Pastoral Theology at Alliance Theological Seminary.
He is married to Candice and has 3 children: Kara, Karis and Kylan. He is an avid fig grower and enjoys fishing.
Pastor XuXuan (Lewis) Luo
Associate Pastor, Chinese Ministries
Pastor XuXuan (Lewis) Luo, came from Guangdong, Hakka. He became a physician in an airline company after graduating from medical school in 1997.
In 2001 Pastor XuXuan accepted Jesus as his personal savior and has been serving in fellowships and Sunday School in the church.
In 2015, he responded to God’s calling and left his practice and furthered his studies at Christian Witness Theological Seminary in San Jose. He was the intern of West Valley Christian Alliance Church during his study. He received his M. Div Degree from CWTS in 2018 and became the Chinese Intern Pastor of WVCAC. Pastor Lewis is currently serving as Associate Pastor of Chinese Ministry.
Pastor XuXuan is very grateful and cherishes the full support of his wife, Qian Zhou (Emma) and son Joshua in his ministry. He is willing to serve in the Kingdom of God and share God’s grace with other people.
Pastor Leo (Liwu) Wang
Assistant Pastor, Mandarin Ministries
Leo worked in the electrical field before entering full-time ministry, and he was actively involved in church ministry and evangelistic work for many years. Throughout his life, God has continually guided and shaped him. In response to God’s call, he entered seminary for theological training. In 2025, he began serving at West Valley Christian Alliance Church and completed his master’s degree in 2026. He currently serves in the Mandarin pastoral ministry of West Valley Christian Alliance Church.
Leo enjoys Chinese tea culture and the art of tea appreciation. In his free time, he enjoys connecting with people, sharing life stories, reading, learning, and spending quality time with his family. He values sincere relationships and firmly believes that God often demonstrates His grace through the mutual encouragement, care, and fellowship of believers.
Leo and his wife, Emily, have three children: Tom, Jesse, and Grace. Together, they live and serve in the Bay Area. As a family, they desire to continue faithfully serving in God’s kingdom and to be a blessing to others.
Betty Sung – Administrative Assistant
Betty Sung graduated from San Jose State University with a Marketing major and Advertising minor. She accepted Christ in college and starting to serve in Alliance church since 1988. She has been serving at West Valley Alliance Church since 2002.
